Welcome to the 34th Annual Summer Arts & Music Festival! 

The Summer Arts & Music festival has been going strong for 34 years because of the dedication and hard work provided by you and the rest of the hundreds of volunteers it takes to put on this event.

It is our hope, that by using a smooth process of organization, we can lower each other’s stress levels, and create healthy, happy volunteers who help us pull together this awesome event and have a great time. 

Basic Event Info

When: Saturday & Sunday, June 5 & 6, 2010
Where: Benbow Lake State Recreation Area, Benbow CA
Gates: 10am, music till 10pm

Requirements
Volunteers are required to work 6 hours in exchange for admission both days, crew shirt and meal (during shift only).  12 and 18 hour packages are available. Ask your coordinator for details.

New Volunteers
Please call The Mateel Community Center (707) 923-3368x27 or email volunteer@mateel.org to be added to the volunteer list, be sure to include your full name, phone number, email and area of interest or experience. Your name and contact info will be made available to coordinators seeking volunteers. The coordinator will contact you for scheduling. If no one has made contact by April 1st please call the Mateel office again.

Returning Volunteers
If you have already spoken with your coordinator please sign-up online.

There is a mandatory online sign-up. Go to www.mateel.org and click on Summer Arts & Music Festival. Scroll to bottom of page and click on volunteer sign-up.
If you have no online access, see your coordinator for the paperwork. The Crew Agreement and Liability Waiver must be signed and returned to the Mateel Community Center by April 7th.

Volunteer Check In
When you arrive at the event go to Volunteer Check-In located at the main gate. You will receive your wristband, and possibly your T-shirt & meal tickets (unless your coordinator prefers to hand these out themselves).

Camping
There is no onsite camping. Benbow Lake State Recreation Area is designated for day use only and does not have any overnight campground amenities. Please make camping reservations in advance as this weekend fills up. Check out the website for list of campgrounds and accommodations.

Parking
There is no onsite parking. Parking in Benbow is limited, paid parking is available in the Golf Lot for $20 and sells out fast. There is a free shuttle provided from Redway, Garberville and the Benbow State Park Campground. We encourage all volunteers to use the free shuttle which starts at 9am in Garberville to accommodate most volunteer shifts and runs every ½ hour through the weekend.

Shuttle Schedule
Starts at 9am and runs until end of show. Need to get in shuttle line as soon as music is over!
Stops at Redway, Garberville, Benbow State Park & Richardson Grove Campgrounds
Runs every ½ hour on Saturday & Sunday only.
