This years festival will take place on Saturday & Sunday July 21st and 22nd, 2012 at the Benbow Lake State Recreation Area. Advanced tickets go on sale March 1st, and prices and artists will be announced soon. We look forward to seeing you at the 28th annual Reggae On The River!

Please Note: Until specific details of the 2012's 28th ROTR are known and posted herein we have left the bulk of the 2011 Festival information online for those who wish to review general Travel, Lodging, and other Festival details. Be advised that some of this information will soon change or may not be accurate in 2012. We'll post relevant updates as soon as we get them. Thanks!

Dear Community Partner,

Here at the Mateel Community Center, we’d just barely stopped shaking the snow from our boots when we found ourselves knee-deep in preparations for two other “forces of nature,” the Summer Arts & Music Festival June 4th & 5th, and Reggae on the River on July 16th & 17th.

The 35th Annual Summer Arts and Music Festival will host more than 100 local to international music and dance performances presented on four different stages; over 130 juried artisan and food booths; music and craft workshops; a lively 3-ring circus activity area for kids, martial arts demonstrations, storytelling and more. During the day a stream of characters including jugglers, unicyclists, stilt-walkers, clowns, giant puppets and kids of all ages spontaneously parade through the fairway for the amusement of all.

Revelers from far and wide come to enjoy the company of old friends and new, over California wines, micro-brews or soft drinks throughout the day. As night falls on both days, top featured acts perform under the bright lights of the main stage, with a sky full of stars above.

The following month, on July 16th and 17th, the magic returns to SoHum with a celebration of reggae and world music at the 27th Reggae on the River. For two days Benbow Lake State Recreation Area is transformed into an international village with performers from as far away as Jamaica, Africa and Europe and art and crafts from around the world.

As an advertiser in the Summer Arts and Reggae on the River program guides, your support is invaluable toward keeping our programs for children, youth and the greater community alive and thriving. Proceeds from SAMF and ROTR support  Recycled Youth, Missoula Children’s Theatre, Youth Alive, Mateel Aikido, A-Step Restaurant Skills Class, South Fork High School Drama, Mateel Meal, Monologues Project, and more. In turn, your business receives excellent exposure for your advertising dollar.
